The presentation of Gulsifat Shakhidi’s book «Ahriman – Lord of Darkness!» took place in London. In the novel «Ahriman – Lord of Darkness!», the author depicts the life of a family where patriarchy and violence from the head of the household prevail. The story unfolds in a small town, reflecting the psychological and moral issues of the Central Asian republic.

Speaking about her new work, Gulsifat Shakhidi noted that she usually avoids using negative imagery, names, or expressions that evoke fear. However, she couldn’t resist this time, as a tragic chapter emerged in the beloved Tajikistan, a country known for its kind, constructive, hardworking, and remarkable people, where many women, unable to endure domestic violence, resort to the desperate act of suicide.

Gulsifat Gafforovna Shakhidi, a journalist, literary scholar, and prose writer, holds a PhD in philology and is a member of the Eurasian Creative Guild.

She graduated from the Faculty of Journalism at Tajikistan University, worked for the republican youth newspaper, engaged in scientific research, and later served as the chief editor of radio and television at the Tajik branch of MTRK «Mir». Her works have been published in print media in Tajikistan and Russia. Many of Shakhidi’s works have been presented in Dushanbe, London, New York, Washington, Stockholm, Cambridge, Tel Aviv, and Samarkand.

The Haji Nasreddin Prize established by the Eurasian Creative Guild for the best work in satire for the novella «Farhod from Navgilem».

Gulsifat Shakhidi is the Laureate of the International Book Forum in London and the Golden Medal «Generals of Peace for Peace» in 2016.This award is given for the best works dedicated to the theme of strengthening peace and mutual understanding between peoples as part of the annual international literary festival.

The first publication of Gulsifat  Shakhidi was a collection of stories in titled «The City Where Dreams Come True». In March of the same year (2015), it was published in London.
